Monks House of Ale Repute was established to provide an oasis for beer aficionados seeking "Better Beer." Since Prohibition, the larger American breweries that survived have been relentless in convincing the American public that flavorless, malty, highly carbonated lager beer is the ideal. This affront persisted successfully for about fifty years, until a handful of entrepreneurial beer lovers began the ascendancy of artisan breweries in the U.S. Today, scores of micro-breweries provide beer lovers a plethora of wonderful, flavorful brews - much to the delight of all who have experienced the flavors and complexity of a finely brewed ale.
European breweries never stopped producing the flavorful, stronger, more heavily bodied ales and today export hundreds of them to the U.S.
Belgian beers, long the "gold standard," for ales, continue to lead the way, and Monks is proud to feature more than thirty delightful brews from Belgium and dozens of beers from other European countries including Germany, England, Ireland, Norway, France and Poland.
Of course, we also present for your enjoyment a selection of fine wines from throughout the world.
So sit back, relax and enjoy your libations in the quietude and ambiance of Monks.
