Monks, the only specialty beer bar between Denver and Minneapolis, Monks boasts a selection of over 140 world class beers and wines, many of which can not be found in any other bar in town. Several of the  belgian beers are still brewed by Belgian Monks, the gold standard by which all beers are measured.  "We basically specialize in beer lovers' beer." A lot of time and effort has gone into making sure the ambiance will appeal to a diverse crowd ranging from twenty to eighty years old.  Blues and Jazz music fill the back ground and Monks is a Non-Smoking establishment with outdoor patios that will seat up to 60 people, in season of course.   A small menu selection includes something for every taste.  Monk's uniqueness does not stop there.....local and area artwork creates an artsy atmosphere from metal tabletops to extraordinary wood furniture and sculptures by the owner himself, Jerry Hauck.  Sundays, join the crowd for an afternoon at Monk's "Unplugged" featuring song writers, documentaries andart films.  Monks is located in the newly booming part of Downtown Sioux Falls in the area called East bank Sioux Falls.  Monks specialized in Beers that will blow your mind.

Imbibe Magazine has recently named Monks House of Ale Repute in a story called "100 Best Places to Drink Beer in America."  Monks is the only bar pictured in the "Best Kept Secrets" category.
